Nwa Dc-10-40 metal print by J Griff Griffin.   Bring your artwork to life with the stylish lines and added depth of a metal print. Your image gets printed directly onto a sheet of 1/16" thick aluminum. The aluminum sheet is offset from the wall by a 3/4" thick wooden frame which is attached to the back. The high gloss of the aluminum sheet complements the rich colors of any image to produce stunning results.

Artist's Description

This one was one heavy lifter. Second, only to the 747s of the time. We flew this all over the world and it was a joy. I'd have to say that Douglas airplanes appealed to me the most. This aircraft is called a -40. The reason being that Northwest at the time wanted to boast in advertising they had the latest heavy jets. The only thing that made them different from the -30s were the Pratt and Whitney engines that NWA always insisted upon. You can tell a -40 from a -30 by the bulbous air intake on the center engine which is clearly depicted in this drawing. The -30s went straight back in comparison.
