Description
As Kahlil Gibran wrote "Remembrance is a form of meeting. Forgetting is a form of freedom." Round engines can swell one's heart. In a good way. Through the 1950s this was the pinnacle of airline travel. It had a sexy shape, leg room (wow! what a concept!) and powerful turbocharged engines that had a great sound.
The trees in this picture are background typical of the Seattle area. The aircraft has just lifted off and gotten the gear up as it begins an eastbound turn towards the Cascades. As I write these words, I can still hear and see these planes in my memory. What a great time for airlines. Revised and improved from one of my original paintographs from 1996. I like this one better, but may have some grain in the final product, if you can compare early 90s computers with today's, you'll understand.

This is my husband's favorite airliner...and probably his all-time favorite aircraft too. Beautiful rendering of this unique and remarkable Lockheed!

Thanks, Tammy. One of my favorites, too. This was one of my earliest "paintographs" done about 1997. I can still hear those round engines in my mind. Best regards, Griff
