"Rhythm, rattle and hiss as the sun rises with its kiss." Drifting easily down the grade the train crew has just begun their day. I have a slogan that came from this paintograph. "Paintings in Colors You've Never Seen in Places You've Never Been" All this means is I like to use the most intense colors possible to set the mood. The landscape in this case is from my mind but somewhat representative of the terrain along the Las Animas River in SW Colorado. If you have heard/read about HDR photographs, well this is an HDR painting but only the color is High Dynamic Range. Few, if any artists push color this far. But nature does do it on occasion. This is what I was striving to replicate.
