Even in the daytime these imposing structures are massive as they sit in the hills surrounded by mountains like Pike's Peak and the range to the southwest called Sangre De Cristos. As I was looking for a subject to work with it occurred to me that these massive gold mining structures were somewhat other worldly. I planned away to portray that.
